Azim Kalantari-Asl made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the first business-to-business (B2B) meeting between Iranian and Russian companies on cooperation in oil and gas sectors at the institute.
Pointing to effective cooperation between the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and companies of Tatarstan, a republic of the Russian Federation, he reiterated that such cooperation between RIPI and Russian companies is possible.
Kalantari-Asl said proposals on the promotion of cooperation between the private sectors of Iran and Russia have been put forward.
Elaborating on the proposals, he referred to the first plan presented in Saint Petersburg, calling for making arrangements for regional cooperation between the two countries’ scientific centers in the educational sector and greater cooperation in the field of technology ecosystem by setting up an office.
The Saint Petersburg State University chancellor welcomed the plan, the RIPI chief stated.
Shifting to Iran’s achievements in oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors, Kalantari-Asl said, “More than 70 percent of equipment and chemicals, including catalysts, are produced by Iranian industrialists and their know-how could be shared with Russian and regional companies.”
