Kazem Jalali made the remarks via videolink in an expert meeting titled “International Petrochemical Cooperation” held during the 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF) in Tehran.
Iran-Russia relations have been promoted since the 13th (Raeisi) administration took office, said the diplomat, adding the two sides’ delegations have also held talks on cooperation in the petrochemical industry.
He, however, pointed to some problems including transit and banking challenges.
Given the efforts made by the Raeisi administration, Iran-Russia transit project will be implemented soon, Jalali stated.
The ambassador continued, “Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak accompanied by Russian Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina will pay a visit to Iran in mid-May and will meet Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji to discuss cooperation in the energy sector.”
The two-day 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum kicked off in Tehran on Monday.
