45% Rise in Horizontal, Directional Drilling Efficiency of Oil, Gas Wells since March

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The efficiency of horizontal and directional drilling operations of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) grew by at least 45% in the first 8 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21 compared to the same period last year.

According to NIDC, Peyman Shoushtarizadeh, the deputy director of NIDC for special services, said on Sunday that the company’s drilling reached 8,328 meters during the period from 4,546 meters in the first 8 months of last calendar year.

He added: "Horizontal and directional drilling operations were carried out on 23 wells in onshore oil-rich areas, and in this year's plan, drilling of several more wells is on the agenda.”

The NIDC official stated: “During this period, 76 meters of core drilling was carried out to identify the formations in the well structure of the fields, and in connection with the completion of the well drilling and technical and engineering survey, 85 cases of logging, 320 cases of surface logging and 170 cases of well surveying were also done by the experts of this company, which shows a noticeable increase in surface logging and well surveying.”
