Iran, Russia Stepping up Oil Ties

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The director of support for manufacturing and supply of goods at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) announced the willingness of Iran and Russia to tap the existing capacities in manufacturing and supply of goods between the two sides.

Borzou Ghanbari, in an interview with Shana, stated that previously intensive meetings were held for the Iran-Russia memorandum on cooperation, and said: “In the field of manufacturing support and supply of goods, Iran is more interested in technology transfer and entry of technical know-how and new technologies into the country, as well as the manufacture of special equipment.”

Pointing out that Russia has a high capacity in the field of manufacturing and supplying goods, he added: "In some cases, our domestic resources do not have the necessary capacity to manufacture and supply goods, and we are negotiating with the Russian side on a case-by-case basis. We have had meetings with capable Russian companies in this field, therefore, in the near future, this cooperation will begin in the form of domestic manufacturing contracts and technology transfer from Russian companies to domestic ones.”
