NIDC Bracing for Stronger Presence in Persian Gulf

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) said: With the provision of three offshore drilling rigs, the company's presence in the Persian Gulf waters will become stronger in the near future.

According to NIDC, Hamidreza Golpaigani in a meeting with the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) on Monday said that NIDC is operating three drilling rigs, including Shahid Rajaee, Shahid Modares and a diagonal drilling rigs in the Persian Gulf, adding: “Shahid Rajaee and Shahid Modares rigs have become ineffective due to wear and tear of equipment, and according to the approval of NIOC, three new rigs will replace them.”

He stated: “Changing the structure and reforming the processes, rebuilding and modernizing drilling machines and technical service equipment, timely supply of goods and functional items, reforming the daily rig rate, manpower training and foresight in the issue of human resources are among the highlights that can be used in improving the agility and productivity of the company.”

The NIDC CEO said under the 13th administration, with the special attention of the NIOC CEO and the support provided, the NIDC management, with the double efforts of its hardworking employees, was able to increase the number of active drilling rigs from 56 in the calendar year of 1400 which ended on March 20 to 64, which will reach 66 by the end of this calendar year.
