Owji welcomes Turkish President in Tehran

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Turkish president arrived in Tehran on Monday evening at the head of a high-ranking delegation of political and economic officials to be welcomed by the Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Javad Owji.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Tehran on Monday evening (July 18). He was welcomed by Javad Owji upon his arrival at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport.

Erdoğan, who has visited Iran at the official invitation of Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, will also attend the meeting of the Iran-Turkey High Cooperation Council in addition to the official bilateral meeting and participation in the 7th Summit of heads of guarantor states of peace in Syria known as the Astana Peace Process.

The official welcoming ceremony for the President of Turkey was held on Tuesday morning in the historical-cultural complex of Saadabad, and after the meeting and discussion between the Presidents of Iran and Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Seyed Ebrahim Raisi attended a joined press conference.
