Due to the decrease in the efficiency of the generators of the Salman platform, which have been operating for nearly 30 years, it was necessary to carry out their repairs and maintenance, therefore it was decided that the repair unit of the platform to carry out the operation by relying on local manpower and resources.

Coordination of preparations for the work has been done by the District and platform electrical renovation and repairs unit, and after the issuance of the shutdown permit for generator D, the electrical, turbine, mechanical, and precision instrument repair units of the platform along with the dispatched forces from the District’s electrical renovation and repairs unit started repairing the generator.

It is expected that after these repairs, the efficiency of these generators will increase by about 50% and the stability of the power network of Salman platform will also be improved.
