Ground Ready for Iran-Iraq cooperation in Developing Joint Oil Fields: Veep

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Iranian First Vice President said the ground for cooperation between the two governments of Iran and Iraq in the fields of academia, transportation, production from joint oil fields, energy, technical-engineering services, medicine and health have been paved under the Raisi administration.

According to the information base of the First Vice President, Mohammad Mokhber, in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, on Sunday evening, said that the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq are not limited to the neighborhood and are very deep. “Independence, welfare, stability and security in Iraq are important for Iranian officials and people.”

Emphasizing that the fields of cooperation between the two governments in the fields of academia, transportation, production from joint oil fields, energy, technical-engineering services, medicine and health have been paved under the Raisi administration, he added: “Development of transportation routes including rail, land and sea are very important for the economic development of the two countries.”

Referring to the many historical, religious and cultural commonalities between Iran and Iraq, the Iraqi Prime Minister said: "There are great grounds and plans for cooperation between the two countries, and therefore the Iraqi government is determined to implement the agreements as soon as possible."

In this meeting, the two sides, while reviewing the previous negotiations and reviewing the latest status of agreed cooperation in various economic fields, exchanged views on removing obstacles and accelerating these measures.
