40% Growth in Receipt of Oil Revenues: Min.

TEHRAN (Shana) – The Iranian Minister of Petroleum said the country’s receipt of oil revenue has increased by 40% in the first quarter of the current calendar year, which began on March 21 compared to the same period last year.

Speaking on Tuesday (June 21) on the sidelines of the meeting of the Program, Budget and Accounts Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Javad Owji said: “In this meeting, a report was presented on the performance of the Ministry of Petroleum and exports of petrochemical products, as well as revenues from the sale of oil resources in the first quarter of the year compared to last [calendar] year.”

While emphasizing that the amount of revenues from oil sales this year has been very positive compared to last year, he added: “The performance of the Ministry of Petroleum this year compared to last year has achieved about 40% rise in the receipt of revenues.”

The Minister of Petroleum stated: “In the first three months of the year, about 40% of the receivables of the Ministry of Petroleum from the sale of crude oil, gas condensate and petroleum products, natural gas and petrochemicals have increased compared to the first quarter of last year.”
