Iran Oil Revenue Collection 60% Y/Y: Official

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Director General of Public Relations of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum said the receipt of hard currency earnings of oil sales in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21 saw a 60% year-on-year growth.

Ali Forouzandeh stated: "With the efforts of the Ministry of Petroleum and contrary to rumors and statements in the public sphere, the receipt of revenues from the export of oil, gas condensate, natural gas, petroleum products and petrochemical products in the first two months of this year has increased dramatically compared to the same period last year.”

He added: "Comparison of revenue collection from the sale of oil, gas condensate, natural gas, petroleum products, petrochemical products in the two months of this year compared to last year shows that hard currency earnings in the months of Farvardin and Ordibehesht (March 21 to May 22, 2022) have been more than 60% higher than the same period last year.”  

The Director General of Public Relations of the Ministry of Petroleum added: "For example, the petrochemical revenues deposited in the Nima system in the first two months of last year were $1.5 billion, which has reached $2.450 billion in the first two months of this year."

Forouzandeh said: “The deposited revenues have been provided to the relevant organizations for various uses of the country according to the provisions of the budget law.”
