The documents were inked after Iran’s Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji held talks with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and his accompanying delegation.
Owji and Novak also signed a joint statement, as the two heads of the Iran-Russia Joint Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission negotiated.
In addition, Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) CEO Morteza Shahmirzaei and a representative of the Russian Chemists Union (RCU) President Viktor Ivanov signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on exchange of technical know-how and cooperation between knowledge-based companies in the field of petrochemical equipment.
In the meantime, Iranian Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development for Transport Shahriar Afandizadeh and Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Dmitry Zverev signed the 12th protocol of the working group on transport cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier in the day, Owji said Iran’s 13th administration is making every effort to develop trade ties with Russia.
He added that the two countries’ governmental and private sectors will help broaden bilateral relations.
Heading a high-level delegation, the Russian deputy prime minister arrived in Tehran to discuss his country’s cooperation with top Iranian officials.
Iran and Russia enjoy all-out relations, he said, adding that bilateral ties have witnessed a special dynamism in recent years.
The top Russian official emphasized that the two sides are required to implement the agreements reached between their presidents.
