NIOC CEO Meets with Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) met with Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov to discuss cooperation capacities between the two countries in the field of energy.

"There are good areas for energy cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan, and Iran intends to activate the existing potential between the two countries," Mohsen Khojastehmehr told Shana after the Sunday meeting.

He added: "Considering Kazakhstan's desire to cooperate with our country's oil industry, experts from the two countries are scheduled to study fields of cooperation in the development of heavy oil fields, liquefied natural gas (LNG), swaps of oil, gas and petroleum products, and the export of technical and engineering services."

The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company continued: "The result of the talks between the experts of the two countries will eventually lead to a memorandum of cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan, so the Ministry of Petroleum is ready to formally sign this memorandum during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Tehran."

Khojastehmehr said: "Currently, Iran and Kazakhstan have good cooperation with each other in the fields of transportation and agriculture, and efforts are being made for the two countries to be able to use the existing capacities in the field of energy."
