Owji meets with Omani Counterpart

TEHRAN (Shana) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji met with his Omani opposite number Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhi to discuss cooperation between the two countries in various energy sectors.

Javad Owji, who left Tehran for Oman yesterday morning (Friday, May 20), discussed with his Omani counterpart the development of cooperation between Iran and Oman in various energy sectors and joint projects.

It is worth mentioning that a delegation of 50 Iranian businessmen and economic figures visited Oman last week in order to create the conditions for the expansion of economic and trade relations between Iran and Oman.

President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi will leave for the capital, Muscat, on Monday at the official invitation of the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, to continue economic diplomacy and to expand economic, political and cultural interactions.

The official reception at the Al Elm Palace, a bilateral meeting with the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, signing of several cooperation documents, a meeting with Iranians living in Oman and a meeting with businessmen and economic activists in this country are among the president's one-day travel plans.

Raisi’s visit to Muscat is the first visit of the President of Iran to this country during the reign of the new Sultan of Oman and the fifth state visit of the President in the 9 months of the 13th administration.
