Investment in Information and Communications Technology Can Help Progress Projects

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The information and communications technology director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) asked on Friday for making investments in information and communications technology field, saying the project’s progress will go through the investment in this area.

Omid Vatankhah made the remarks on the unveiling ceremony of ‘the fuel station licensing system’, held on the sidelines of the 26th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, Iran Oil Show, and said less than 10 percent has already been invested in information and communications technology of petrochemical industry and there need to be no limitations in this field in order to be transparent and eliminate bureaucracy and additional costs.

There used to be a long and complicated process to get a license to open a fuel station which has been facilitated through this system he said, adding it took two months for the system to be designed and launched.
