Iran Eyes 5.7 mbd Oil Output

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, emphasizing the importance of repairing and renovating the facilities of oil terminals, announced the prospect of the country's crude oil production capacity to 5.7 million barrels per day within the next eight years.

According to the National Iranian Oil Company, Mohsen Khojastehmehr stated on Thursday that if market conditions allow, the export capacity of crude oil from Khark could be doubled.

The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company stressed that in the next eight years, the outlook for the country's crude oil production capacity is 5.7 million barrels per day, which means that there is readiness to increase exports: "We must prepare export terminals for to be able to increase exports as needed.”

Khojastehmehr stated: "Because all the equipment in Khark region and oil terminals must be modern due to being international,… we must use the capacity of knowledge-based companies to equip infrastructure systems.”
