Iran-Venezuela Energy Cooperation Capacities Examined

TEHRAN (Shana) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji headed a delegation to Venezuela, where he met with senior Venezuelan officials to emphasize development of Tehran-Caracas relations, especially in the field of energy.

Javad Owji headed a delegation to Venezuela earlier this week, during which he met with Venezuelan Oil Minister Tareck El Aissami and a number of high-ranking Venezuelan officials, including President Nicolas Maduro and Vice President Delcy Rodríguez.

"It was a constructive meeting to deepen brotherhood ties and energy cooperation," the Venezuelan president wrote about his meeting with the Iranian Minister of Petroleum during the Iranian delegation's visit to Caracas.

Nicolas Maduro wrote on Tuesday in his latest Twitter post:

"I received Mr. Javad Owji, Minister of Petroleum, of the brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran. It was a constructive meeting to deepen brotherhood ties and cooperation in the field of energy. I also reiterated my appreciation for the Iranian people and my love for them."

During his visit to Caracas, the Iranian petroleum minister also met with Venezuelan First Vice President Delcy Rodríguez.

The Venezuelan official wrote on his Twitter account after meeting with Mr. Owji:

"In the meeting with Mr. Javad Owji, Minister of Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we reviewed strategic agreements."

Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji said in his twitter account: "We want to use all our capacities to develop bilateral relations and cooperation.”

Javad Owji wrote in his latest Twitter post:

"Today we had meetings with the Honorable President of Venezuela, Mr. Maduro, and other senior Venezuelan officials. Iran-Venezuela relations have a long history, and we want to use all our capacities to develop relations and cooperation."
