Transit, Gas Dispute with Turkmenistan Resolved: Raisi

TEHRAN (Shana) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said: “The highlight of the meeting with the President of Turkmenistan was the development of economic relations and settlement of the transit and gas dispute, which was resolved.”

According to president.ir, after returning from a trip to Turkmenistan to attend the ECO summit, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said on Sunday evening: "The presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the founders of ECO had different messages. At this meeting, all members of this regional organization emphasized on increasing the economic relations of the member countries.”

He added: "The achievements and successes that the Economic Cooperation Organization has had so far are not enough and greater steps must be taken to develop economic cooperation."

Referring to the bilateral meetings with the leaders of the countries participating in the ECO summit, the President stated: "The most important focus of the talks with the Presidents was to use the existing capacities to develop economic and trade relations."

Referring to the meeting and talks with the President of Turkmenistan, Raisi said that the highlight of the meeting was the development of economic relations and the settlement of the transit and gas dispute.

He said: "The issue of gas, which was interrupted, was investigated and finally led to the signing of an agreement, and we hope there will be no worries in this regard after this."
