3rd Iran-Germany Energy Working Committee Held

TEHRAN (Shana) – The Director General of Europe, US and Caspian Neighbors Office of the International Affairs and Trade Department of the Ministry of Petroleum said: "Considering Germany's membership in the European Union, the Energy Working Committee can play an effective role in expanding relations with other European countries and provide a good basis for cooperation with EU members."

In an interview with Shana, Hossein Ismaili talked about the focus of the third meeting of the Iran-Germany Energy Working Committee, which was held today (Tuesday, October 26) at the central building of the Ministry of Petroleum: “Renewable energies, increasing efficiency and productivity and reducing energy intensity, transfer new technologies and the cooperation of the German public and private sectors with the Ministries of Petroleum, Energy and their affiliates were the most important topics discussed at the meeting.”

He said that in this working committee, representatives of BMWI, GIZ, Dena, German Ministry of Economy and Energy and the representative of the German Embassy in Tehran with representatives of the Presidential Transformation and Development Cooperation Center, Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Energy, SATBA and Fuel Consumption Optimization Company examined ways of cooperation between the two countries.

“It was decided that the delegations of the two sides, within the framework of the agreements reached, follow up on the issues considered and plan to hold the fourth energy committee,” he added.

The Iranian delegation was chaired by Hossein Ismaili and the German delegation was chaired by Ms. Ursula Borak, Deputy Director General for International Energy of the German Ministry of Economy and Energy.
