According to the National Iranian Gas Company, Mohammad Reza Jolaei said: "Considering the arrival of a new wave of cold that we are witnessing earlier this year than last year, the trend of gas consumption has increased compared to two weeks ago, although so far it has imposed no restrictions on any sector.”
Mehr is the 7th month in the Iranian calendar which begins on September 23 and ends on October 22.
He said that the consumption of power plants is now 240 million cubic meters, adding consumption of major industries in the same period was 140 million cubic meters per day and residential consumption was 220 mcm/d.
The dispatching director of the National Iranian Gas Company stated: "In order to pass the winter and ensure the stability and resilience of gas transmission during the cold season, we have prepared a specific program in three phases in the refinery repairs, pipelines, storage tanks and storage of liquid fuel in power plants."
"Most of the refineries have been overhauled and the few remaining repairs will be completed by mid-October, so with this operation, our reliability in the refineries will increase, so we can maximize production and be sure that clean, safe and efficient gas transmission will take place,” he went on to add.
