Asmari Reservoir of Abuzar Oilfield Online

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) announced production of oil from the Asmari reservoir of Abuzar oilfield for the first time in the history of the field's development.

According to IOOC,, Javad Rostami, Head of Petroleum Engineering of the company, said: "With the plans made in the past few months for additional development of the reservoir and the possibility of producing oil from the upper Asmari layer of Abuzar field was done and after its completion and commissioning, oil production from this reservoir was realized for the first time in the history of Abuzar field development."
He added: "According to previous studies and appraisal of production results from this well, planning to drill more wells to develop the reservoir was  done and it is predicted that with the initial development of this reservoir and drilling five to eight wells, daily production of 6 to 10,000 barrels of crude oil (based on the production process in the mentioned well) will be made possible from this reservoir."
The Head of IOOC's Petroleum Engineering gave a history of exploitation and development of Abuzar Field, and said: "So far, the development and production project of Abuzar Field is focused on Ghar (with 4030 million barrels of oil in place and 1730 million barrels of reserved oil), Bergen (with 118 million barrels of oil in place and 31 million barrels of reserved oil) and Dammam (with 138 million barrels of oil in place and 18.4 million barrels of reserved oil) reservoirs.
