According to the National Petrochemical Company, Seyed Jalal Mirhashemi stated: "From the beginning of this [calendar] year to mid-February, production of petrochemicals has reached about 56 million tons and is expected to reach about 61 million tons by the end of the calendar year of 1399.”
Last year, Iran’s petrochemical output stood at over 55 million tons.
“Production and sales of various petrochemical products with the desired capacity is underway and despite certain problems, with the efforts of the country's petrochemical industry, this year's production leap in the petrochemical industry has been realized and the total output is expected to grow by about 9% compared to last year,” he said.
Mirhashemi further emphasized that Iran's petrochemical industry, as one of the parent industries, is one of the most important pillars of development and the driving force of various sectors of the country's economy.
