Refinery Eyes Euro-5 Output by 2022

TEHRAN (Shana) – The CEO of Imam Khomeini Oil Refinery said his company was planning to yield Euro-5 petroleum items by the end of the next Iranian calendar year to March 2022.

Speaking to Shana on the sidelines of the 25th Iran Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, Gholamhossein Ramezanpour said: "This goal will be achieved by applying process changes and without major investment, and with its implementation, the quality of petrol produced by the refinery will reach Euro-5 qualifications."

Currently the plant supplies Euro-4 petrol.

Ramezanpour said by completing this project, the facility's petrol output will increase by 500,000 liters per day.

He also referred to the daily production of 50,000 tons of normal hexane (normal pentane) since December with the creativity, innovation and initiative of the specialists and experts of the refinery, without any major investment and only tapping empty capacities and changes in processes.

"The production unit of this product has brought $55 million annually to the company," he said.
