‌Khuzestan Petchem Plant Breaks Epoxy Resin Output Record

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of Khuzestan Petrochemical Company said a new record in the production of epoxy resin was set in his company over the first 9 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.

According to the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Reza Saleh Ahmadi said the production line of solid powder epoxy resin would be put into operation in the first half of the next calendar year in the plant which would render the country self-sufficient in production of the item.

Speaking during a visit of a group of CEOs of companies consuming Khuzestan Plant’s epoxy resin, he announced the setting of new production records in Khuzestan Petrochemical Plant in the year of “Production Leap,” and said: “The first 9 months of this year, with 100% realization of epoxy resin production plans, the entire program has been materialized.”

The CEO of Khuzestan Petrochemical Company stated that parallel with production of the item, plans are under way for production of a new grade of solid powder epoxy resin has started in the petrochemical company, adding Iran’s market consumes 2,500 tons of the item annually.

He noted that the production capacity of the new unit will be roughly 3,000 tons per year, and added: "This unit is being constructed with Iranian technical savvy and efforts have been made to use the facilities, equipment and capacities available in the plant to complete and commission it."

Solid powder epoxy resin is used for production of various items, including raw materials for cans. With the construction of this new unit, Iran will no longer need to import the item.
