NISOC calls for development of Masjed Soleyman oil fields

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company (NISOC) has stressed the need for targeted development of oil fields operated by the Masjed Soleyman Oil and Gas Production Company, making better use of existing capacities and tailoring plans to reservoir conditions to boost production.

Ramin Hatami made the remarks at a meeting on well productivity at the Masjed Soleyman Oil and Gas Production Company, according to NISOC.

He said the company’s reservoirs differ significantly in their conditions. Some fields face specific challenges because of their long production histories and substantial depletion, while younger, less-developed fields offer further potential for expansion.

Hatami said optimizing production requires plans tailored to the characteristics of each field.

He praised employees for achieving 101% of their production target in the first half of the year and commended efforts to modernize facilities and pipelines and improve their safety.

He highlighted the replacement of 30 kilometers of the Naft-e Sefid pipeline despite regional obstacles and difficult working conditions, as well as safety improvements on pipelines in hard-to-access areas, including the Parsi Siah, Shian and Lab-e Sefid routes.

Hatami called for stronger development activities in Masjed Soleyman, saying the company should review its development plans and define work packages suited to individual fields to make more effective use of existing capacity and encourage private-sector participation in projects.

He identified resolving the status of wells ready for production and returning wells requiring further work to operation as priorities for increasing output. He also called for assessing the feasibility of installing pumps in suitable wells.

Hatami further stressed the need to review production estimates and operational plans to support efforts to increase output.
