SPGC to Boost Gas Processing Capacity

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The director of coordination and production supervision of the National Iranian Gas Company said the gas processing capacity of the South Pars gas complex (SPGC) will increase by about 10%.

According to the National Iranian Gas Company, Massoud Zardavian underlined repairs and the readiness of the complex for the winter, saying: "According to the annual plan, from the beginning of this [calendar] year (which began on March 20), and given the special conditions in the country due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, special plans for major repairs have been considered.”

He added: "The overhaul program, which was supposed to start in early April, has been postponed to late April, and will continue until late October, and with the measures taken to produce gas in the winter, there is full readiness."

The official said given the operation of refineries of phases 13, 22 and 24 of South Pars, the complex’s refining capacity woul be increased by 10 percent.
