Iran Consumes 104 bcm of Natural Gas in H1

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The head of dispatching management at the National Iranian Gas Company announced the consumption of over 104 billion cubic meters of natural gas in Iran in the first half of the current calendar year, which began on March 21.

Mohammad Reza Jolaei stated in an interview with Shana that the exact amount of natural gas consumption in the whole country in the first half of this calendar year was 104 billion and 790 million cubic meters, of which the share of domestic, commercial and non-major industries was 39 billion and 630 million cubic meters, major industries 23 billion and 820 million cubic meters and power plants took 41 billion and 340 million cubic meters.

He said the amount of gas injected into the national gas network in the first 6 months of this year was 122 billion and 250 million cubic meters, which shows a 5% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the head of dispatching department of the National Iranian Gas Company, natural gas consumption on the first day of autumn this year was 554 million cubic meters.

Jolaei also announced NIGC readiness for a stable supply of gas this winter, and added NIGC preparations for winter gas supply had started several months ago and were going on well, therefore this winter there would be no trouble supplying natural gas to the household sector.
