According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Seyed Hossein Ghafelehbashi said the existence of a competent laboratory to perform butt fusion testing in Qazvin, Zanjan, Guilan, Hamedan, etc. provinces was fully felt and Qazvin Gas Company has managed to achieve this important goal with the cooperation of the Science and Technology Park of Imam Khomeini International University.

Butt fusion is a thermofusion process. Butt fusion involves the simultaneous heating of the ends of two pipe/fitting components which are to be joined, until a molten state is attained on each contact surface.
