MOS Raises Oil Output of South Yaran field

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The oil production capacity of the South Yaran joint field reached 25,000 barrels per day with the installation of locally-built mobile oil separator (MOS).

Homayoun Kazemeini, the head of the South Yaran oil field development project at Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), said this is the first time that a domestically made mobile oil separator has been installed in the West Karoun oil fields cluster.

“This is very important in terms of taking full advantage of Iranian capabilities,” he said.

“With the installation and commissioning of this device, with an average cost of 16.5 cents per barrel, up to 5,000 barrels has been added to the oil production capacity of South Yaran," he said.

The official said 12 wells were being operated in the field while sinking 6 others were on the agenda of PEDEC.

South Yaran oil field is located 130 km west of Ahvaz, on the border between Iran and Iraq.
