Mohammad-Sadegh Mehrjou, head of technical affairs at the company, told the Oil Ministry's news agency Shana that drilling, repair, well completion and wellhead installation programs aimed to raise production capacity and protect the output of the company's oil and gas fields.

Khangiran

Mehrjou said drilling of Well No. 97 in the Khangiran gas field has been completed and the facilities needed for production have been installed. The well is expected to produce 1.3 million cubic meters of gas per day.

He said completing the work and putting the necessary infrastructure in place will allow the well's capacity to be used. Development of gas wells in the field is aimed at strengthening gas production in the east of the country, he said.

Khartang

Three wells have been drilled so far in the Khartang gas field, and the required facilities have been installed, Mehrjou said.

Well No. 3 was completed in the first half of the year, and its wellhead facilities have been installed. It is expected to produce 1.5 million cubic meters per day. Drilling of Well No. 2A was finished in the Iranian month of Mordad (July 23-Aug. 22), with the same expected output of 1.5 million cubic meters per day.

Wells No. 1 and No. 4 in Khartang came on stream in 1404 (2025-26) as part of the field's development plan and efforts to increase gas extraction, he said.

Drilling of Well No. 4 in the Tous gas field ended in Shahrivar (Aug. 23-Sept. 22), Mehrjou said. The well is expected to produce 1.5 million cubic meters of gas per day. He said the next steps include completing equipment and preparing the well for connection to production facilities before its capacity can be tapped.

Oil well repairs

Mehrjou said three oil wells, Danan 1, Danan 5 and Maleh Kuh 1, were repaired in the first half of 1405. He said such repairs are meant to resolve technical problems, improve operating conditions and keep production going, and they play an important role in maintaining capacity at oil fields in the west of the country.

He said successful execution of technical programs requires coordination among engineering, drilling, well completion and production units, along with continuous supervision, adherence to technical and safety requirements, and optimal use of equipment and operational capacity.
