Enhanced Oil Exports Mark Failure of Sanctions: Rouhani

TEHRAN (Shana) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said: “That Iran’s oil exports increased from 0.9 mbd to nearly 3 mbd after the JCPOA is an indication of the fact that we smashed the sanctions.”

According to President.ir, Dr. Rouhani told the government cabinet on Wednesday that breaking the sanctions is an important issue for Iran, saying that imposition of sanctions is a cruel terrorist act against the Iranian nation; no one can say that sanctions have no effect. To say that sanctions have no effect and that the government must be strong is in support of the US.

The President added: "The one who says that sanctions have no effect is a US supporter, that is, he supports the United States and says that the US has done nothing wrong and has done a good job.”

He also said that it would also be wrong to say that the sanctions would not be broken and that the country has to succumb to the sanctions.

Rouhani went on to say that Iran’s oil exports grew from 900,000 barrels per day to about 3 million barrels a day after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which means that Iran could break the embargoes.
