NISOC to Collect Flare Gas Burners in 3 Years: CEO

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) said his company had planned and was required by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) to gather all the flare stacks in southern oilfields of Iran.

According to NIOC, Ahmad Mohammadi, in a meeting with Mohammad Javad Ashrafi, director general of Khuzestan Province’s Department of Environment, underlined NISOC’s measures to protect the environment in operational districts, saying plans were under way to collect wastewater in the areas by using state-of-the-art methods.

Installation of zero-discharge systems in drilling rigs, investment in research projects to protect the environment, and signing research contracts in order to replace oil-based mud, as well as clearing the soil surrounding drilling rigs by biological methods and exploiting technologies to prevent emission of pollutants are some of the environmental measures taken by NISOC recently.
