Solar Monitoring System of Salman Platform’s Turbines Updated

TEHRAN (Shana) – The Solar Monitoring System of the turbines of Salman Offshore Platform have been updated by experts of the platform.

According to the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), Majid Mohammad Baqerpour, an expert with the Salman Equipment Control Unit,  announced the successful launch of the Solar Turbine Monitoring System over a four-month period in the platform.

He stressed the need for updating and upgrading the monitoring technology of generators and compressors in order to maintain data and analysis of behavior and monitoring of the status of turbines.

He said the systems could cost over IRR 100 billion if it were to be fully purchased from their American suppliers, adding by new design and upgrading the solar turbines, costs were dramatically reduced and the monitors could be easily replaced by the ones that are now available in the Iranian market.

He said all stages of the work were highly specialized, using PCS7 software.
