Touted as the largest refining project in Iran, the project adds 12 million liters per day of petrol to the refinery’s daily production capacity.
This brought the plant’s total Euro-5 petrol production capacity to 45 ml/d, half of the country’s petrol demand, and turning Iran into a potential exporter of the strategic item.
Besides, Phase III of the refinery produces 12 ml/d of gasoil, kerosene, and 3 ml/d of liquid gas products.
Persian Gulf Star Refinery is the world’s largest gas condensate refinery and the first one in the Middle East. Over 70 percent of the equipment needed for building the facility was supplied by domestic manufacturers and almost all the installation and implementation projects were carried out by Iranian forces.
