Iran Polymer Output Sees 10-fold Increase since 2002

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The production of polymer products has grown 10 times since 2002, the first year IranPlast International Exhibition was held in the country, an official with National Petrochemical Company (NPC) says.

Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of projects at NPC, told NIPNA on the sidelines of the 12th IranPlast International Exhibition in Tehran, about the latest state of polymer production in the country.

According to him, the production of polymer products has grown 10 times since 2002, and the number of polymer production units has grown form 4 units in 2002 to 27 units in 2018, indicating the importance of the plastics industry in the world and the country.

“Regarding the fact that the petrochemical industry is one of the industries that is related to all the needs of the community, including various industries such as automotive, aviation, and households, exhibitions at the level of IranPlast are especially considered by industrialists and consumers.

"Due to the rapid growth of technology in this industry as well as the diverse needs of the plastics industry, the exhibition is an excellent opportunity for technology exchange and the introduction of new products in this field," said Mr. Bossaqzadeh.
