No Fuel Shortages in Iran

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The National Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) has announced there will be no fuel shortages in Iran as daily gasoline production would reach 95.5 million liters in a few days.

According to NIORDC, Alireza Arman Moghaddam, director of consolidated planning at the company, said given the rising domestic demand for fuel and gasoline, production of this strategic item would reach 95.5 m/d in the coming days and there would be no concerns for supply shortages in the country.

Because this increase has coincided with overhauls in several petrochemical suppliers of MTBE, the country is currently producing gasoline below its nameplate capacity.

Once sufficient MTBE is supplied, production of gasoline will reach 95.5 ml/d to meet the domestic demand for the item. Iranian motorists currently consume 93.080 ml/d of gasoline.

Last month, petrol production stood at 87.260 ml/d in Iran, up 29.1% year-on-year.
