The installation paves the way for placing the topside of Platform F18 of the field and drilling of more oil wells, said Hamid Bovard, IOOC managing director.

Once operational, the platform will add nearly 7,000 barrels of crude oil to the field's daily production capacity, he said.

The IOOC official further added that pile driving operation of the jacket has begun and is expected to sum up in about 10 days.
