Tokyo - Nippon Oil Corp Japan's biggest refiner, said on Monday it had shut the 70,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) number two crude distillation unit in its Negishi refinery in Kanagawa prefecture, eastern Japan.

Nippon Oil shut the CDU on Sunday after fire broke out at a vacuum flasher unit at 11:20 a.m. (0220 GMT) because of an oil leak, a spokesman said. The fire was extinguished 10 minutes later, he added. PIN//Reuters
