Minister: Oil Getting Tiniest Share in State Budget

TEHRAN, Aug 27 (Shana) – Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Tayebnia says the share of oil revenues in the state budget lowered up to 31 percent.

Addressing a group of economic activists and private sector representatives in East Azarbaijan Province on Thursday, Tayebnia said over the past 40 years, the country's economy had a bitter experience: As oil income increased, country's problems worsened.

He said oil that could elevate the country's status, turned into a disaster.

"Oil incomes suppressed exports, negatively impacting the role of productivity in Iran's economic growth."
