Environmental Exigencies Observed in North Azadegan Oilfield Development Projects

TEHRAN, July 26 (Shana) – Head of the HSE Department of Petroleum Engineering & Development Company (PEDEC), Koorosh Rezazadeh, says all environmental exigencies have been observed in a project for development of North Azadegan oil field.

Talking to reporters, Rezazadeh said a major portion of North Azadegan oilfield is located in the Hour-al-Azim Lagoon and observation of environmental standards there is seriously on the PEDEC agenda.

He said heavy rainfall in the beginning months of this year revived the pond.

He added that his company is serious in checking any pollutant to the environment as a result of projects for development of West Karoon over 658,000 hectares of lands. 

To this end, the PEDEC has drawn up a master plan for management of environment of West Karoon oilfields.
