Iran Launches Platform 19C at South Pars

TEHRAN, July 04 (Shana) -- Operator of phase 19 development of the massive South Pars gas field said platform 19C of the phase has started operation and will bring gas recovery from the phase to a billion cubic feet per day once fully operational.

Speaking with Shana, Hamidreza Masoudi said the platform came on-stream on Sunday as the first of a new series of new South Pars platforms with a production capacity of 1bcf/d.

Earlier in 2016, the SPD2 platform of the phase was launched for production of half a billion cubic feet of natural gas from the field.

Platform 19C is being launched with the same capacity.

Masoudi said operation of the platform will bring the phase's daily output to 14 mcm/d to be injected to the national gas trunkline.

Phase 19 of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field is a leading project in new development operations over the field. The phase came on-stream in April with 7mcm/d of natural gas output.

Phase 19 development of South Pars is set to produce 50 mcm/d of sweet gas, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate, 400 tons a day of sulfur, 1.05 million tons a year of liquefied petroleum gas and one million tons a year of ethane.

This development phase was awarded by Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) to a Petropars-led consortium of Petropars Limited and Petropars Iran and IOEC in June 2010 under an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contract.

Petropars Limited and Petropars Iran are responsible for onshore installations and drilling operations.
