According to Nematollah Najafi, Operations Director of NIOPDC, all regional branches have completed preparations to meet the increased fuel demand during the pilgrimage season. More than 20 mobile fuel stations will be deployed across major border crossings, including Shalamcheh, Khosravi, and Temerchin, while new facilities have also been prepared for the Chilat border in Ilam Province.

Building on last year’s successful pilot program, fuel distribution for passenger buses will now be managed nationwide through drivers’ bank cards, improving fuel allocation and resource management. In addition, 6 million liters of diesel have been allocated for Iranian pilgrim transport fleets operating inside Iraq, with distribution coordinated through the Central Arbaeen Headquarters.

Around 2,500 municipal buses assigned to border terminals will receive dedicated fuel support through special Arbaeen fuel vouchers. Mobile fueling units and electronic distribution systems will continue to serve buses at border terminals, while Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization fleets will receive additional fuel allocations through the smart fuel card system.

To encourage participation, each bus actively serving pilgrims during Arbaeen will receive an extra 500-liter fuel quota in addition to its regular allocation. Trucks transporting equipment for pilgrimage service camps will also have access to emergency diesel supplies when required.

Najafi stressed that, despite ongoing gasoline supply imbalances, extensive planning, continuous monitoring of fuel inventories, and round-the-clock operations at fuel depots and stations will ensure there are no disruptions during Arbaeen. Emergency fuel cards have also been distributed to selected stations along eastern, western, northwestern, northeastern, and southern border routes.

The company has also guaranteed the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for service stations operating inside Iran at the official subsidized rate.

Concluding his remarks, Najafi praised the dedication of oil industry personnel, emphasizing that fuel distribution teams across Iran’s border provinces are working around the clock to provide reliable services and ensure a smooth, worry-free journey for Arbaeen pilgrims.
