NISOC Boosting Oil Production

TEHRAN April 26(Shana)--The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) has laid the groundwork for boosting oil production to 3 million barrels per day this year, managing director of NISOC, Bijan Alipour said.

Speaking at a meeting with the managers of NISOC’s subsidiaries and board of directors of the company to draw the prospect of oil production for current Iranian calendar year, Alipour noted that NISOC is responsible for production of 83 percent of oil and 16 percent of the country's natural gas output.

He continued that implementation of oil, gas and liquid gas projects were the top priorities of the company over the course of this Iranian calendar year that began on March 21 2015.

According to him, the company has arranged necessary plans for drilling wells in order to maintain the current level of oil and gas production.

Elsewhere in his remarks Aliabadi noted that the company plans to deploy 47 rigs for drilling developmental and work over wells.

The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) operates as a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Company. As Iran's largest oil company, NISOC was established in 1971.
