TEHRAN April 20(Shana)--Iran is expected to earn $32 billion from domestic sale and export of petrochemical products this calendar year to March 2016, a deputy head of National Petrochemical Company said.

Mohammad-Hassan Peyvandi said Iran is expected to sell 32 million tons of petrochemicals on domestic markets for $22 billion. He said that Iran’s petrochemical exports are expected to reach 16 million tons.

Peyvandi said Iran is currently producing 44 million tons of petrochemicals while the country’s production capacity stands at 60 million tons.

He said that completion of half-finished projects would bring Iran’s petrochemical production capacity to 120 million tons a year.

Peyvandi said Indian financiers have shown willingness to fund petrochemical project off the Sea of Oman.

He said that Iran would be producing more than 7 million tons of urea if it reaches agreement with Indian investors.
