Mostafa Nakhaei said the widening gap between electricity production and consumption, particularly during the hot season, has placed increasing pressure on the national power grid. He said expanding renewable energy projects in the industrial sector has become a strategic necessity to help address the imbalance.

Nakhaei said solar power plants are among the fastest and most cost-effective options for reducing the country's energy shortfall. According to available reports, thousands of solar power projects are under development in industrial parks across the country. More than 100 megawatts of capacity has also been built or is under construction for small industries, a trend he said could accelerate with continued government support.

He said renewable energy projects developed by industries provide an effective short- and medium-term response to the electricity crisis. Faster and more decisive action, he added, would help prevent broader power outages while strengthening energy security for the production sector.

Nakhaei said that if large and small industries fully meet their commitments and financial support and investment facilitation continue, a share of the national grid's electricity could be supplied by renewable power plants built by the industrial sector. He said the shift would reduce pressure on the grid, improve the stability of electricity supply and advance the country's transition toward cleaner energy.
