Managing director of Iran Renewable Energy Organization (SUNA) Yousef Armodly said development of renewable energies in the country requires participation of the government and the private sector.
He said the organization’s studies show that the country has the potential for generating 40 thousand megawatts of electricity by setting up wind turbines.
“For now, more than 300 million kilowatt hours of renewable electricity is generated by power plants, excluding those produced by hydro power plants, saving 100 mcm of gas annually”, he said.
