Oil minister calls for strong turnout at martyred Leader’s funeral

SHANA (Tehran) – Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad called on employees across Iran’s oil industry to take part in the funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, saying the sector will play a key role in supporting the nationwide events.

Speaking at a meeting of the Oil Ministry’s deputy ministers, Paknejad said the upcoming ceremonies would draw large crowds from across Iran as well as foreign guests, adding that the oil industry—particularly in Tehran—has made extensive preparations to help ensure the events are held smoothly.

He said the Oil Ministry has established a special headquarters to coordinate services for mourners. According to Paknejad, the ministry and its subsidiaries will be responsible for fuel supply, logistical support and hospitality services during the funeral ceremonies.

Paknejad urged oil industry personnel to participate in large numbers, saying employees who have consistently supported the country's energy production and followed the martyred Leader’s guidance would also be prominently present at the funeral.

He added that the broad public turnout, driven by the Iranian people's deep respect for the martyred Leader, would demonstrate national unity and serve as a response to Iran’s adversaries and those responsible for recent hostile actions against the country.

According to the report, the funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei are scheduled to take place in Tehran province from July 4-6, followed by ceremonies in the holy city of Qom on July 7. Burial at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad is scheduled for July 9.
