Asghar Soheilipour from the National Iranian Gas Company said 600 kilometers of the 1,200-kilometer trunkline has already been constructed.
“IGAT-6 starts from South Pars [gas field in southern Iran] and crosses Khuzestan provinces to extend into Lorestan, Ilam and Kermanshah provinces,” he said.
He also said that completion of four pressure booster stations of IGAT-8 needs 100 million dollars in investment.
NIGC also plans to invest 8.5 billion dollars in Iran Gas Trunkline-9 (IGAT-9) to feed western provinces.
The IGAT-9 designing is expected to be completed in two months. It will feed gas into pipelines crossing Bazargan border point.
IGAT-9 (known as Europe Gas Export Line), 1,800 meters long, originates in east of Assaluyeh and passes by western provinces of Khuzestan, Ilam, Kurdistan and Azerbaijan and reaches to Turkey’s border.
