Winter fuel plans, war damage recovery reviewed

SHANA (Tehran) – A member of Parliament’s Planning, Budget and Calculations Committee said lawmakers and senior Oil Ministry officials recently reviewed winter fuel supply preparations and measures to mitigate the impact of war-related damage on Iran’s oil industry.

Speaking about the meeting, Mehrdad Goudarzvand-Chegini said discussions focused on current production and export levels, upcoming requirements and strategies for restoring the sector to its full production capacity.

He noted that parts of the country’s refineries and petrochemical complexes sustained damage during what officials describe as the “Third Imposed War.” Committee members examined ways to minimize disruptions through advance planning and ensure reliable energy supplies for households and industries during the colder months.

Goudarzvand-Chegini said lawmakers emphasized the need to address existing challenges in the energy sector and strengthen management of potential risks. Discussions centered on reducing the effects of these challenges and identifying the measures required to limit energy shortages and service interruptions during winter.

The committee stressed the importance of coordinated planning to safeguard fuel supplies and maintain energy security as demand rises in the cold season.
