Gas network stability boosted in northern Iran

SHANA (Tehran) – The National Iranian Gas Company completed four hot tap operations in Golestan province to strengthen the stability of the gas network in the country's northern region.

Mohyeddin Mofakhami, manager of Iran Gas Transmission Operations Region 9, said the successful completion of the tapping projects will enhance network reliability and provide greater operational flexibility for the region's pipelines.

The operations were initiated following requests from pipeline operation centers to reinforce the grid's stability. The project designs were subsequently developed by the company's engineering unit to address critical gas supply needs.

Mofakhami noted that the hot tap operations—a method of connecting new pipes to an existing pressurized system—were carried out in coordination with Regions 4 and 9, as well as the National Gas Company’s dispatch center.

Crucially, the projects were completed without any disruption to gas service. The work followed a strictly pre-planned schedule and adhered to all safety protocols.

Mofakhami praised the technical and operational teams for their synergy, stating that the successful implementation of these projects ensures the continued safe and reliable delivery of gas to the region.
