Pezeshkian Calls for End to Energy Waste

SHANA (Tehran) – President Masoud Pezeshkian said wasteful energy consumption must be stopped, stressing that improving efficiency is essential for strengthening the country’s resilience and economic development.

According to president.ir, Pezeshkian said Saturday in a message to the National Productivity Conference that optimizing consumption is no longer a choice but a necessity in today’s world.

“In the current global environment, attention to productivity and efficient consumption is a fundamental requirement for enhancing national resilience, improving governance quality and creating the conditions for the country’s growth and progress,” he said.

Pezeshkian noted that Iran is facing limited resources and damage caused by war, adding that increasing productivity should become one of the main pillars of policymaking and executive management.

The president also emphasized the need to reduce waste in key sectors such as energy and water, as well as across production and distribution chains and administrative processes.

“A significant portion of the country’s limitations stems not from a lack of resources, but from inefficiency in the way resources are consumed and allocated,” he said.

Pezeshkian called on the public to join what he described as a national movement toward optimized consumption despite ongoing economic pressures.

“With God’s help, we will not only overcome these crises, but also build a proud future for the country,” he added.
